Engine Diagnostic Center
The central diagnostic platform for large engines: Ships and power plants send their measurement data to a system — for condition monitoring and clear action recommendations.
e-line Platform
A central system for the entire fleet
Ships and power plants worldwide send their measurement data to a central platform that interprets the condition of each individual cylinder.
The EDCenter is the heart of the e-line infrastructure from International Technology. From scattered individual measurements, fleet-wide condition monitoring emerges – with concrete action recommendations before deviations turn into damage.

Fleet Monitoring
The entire fleet in one overview
Every vessel transmits its engine measurement data to a central system. From thousands of individual measurements, a fleet-wide status picture emerges – comparable and prioritized by urgency.
Onboard Acquisition
Portable and permanently installed measurement systems capture cylinder pressure, temperatures, and operational data – on every vessel, regardless of type and year of manufacture.
Secure Transmission
Measurements from the entire fleet are aggregated via satellite or land connection in the EDCenter and automatically assigned to the correct vessel and engine.
Fleet-wide Analysis
The diagnostic core condenses the individual measurements of all vessels into fleet KPIs: traffic light matrix, rankings, and trends in direct comparison.
A Cockpit for Fleet Management
Superintendents can see at a glance which engines require attention. The crew onboard works with the same data as the office on land.
- Traffic light matrix across all vessels and engines in the fleet
- Benchmarks between sister ships and engines of the same type
- Long-term trends across voyages, seasons, and operational years
- Role-based views for Crew, Superintendent, and Management

The Platform
From Fleet Overview to Individual Cylinder
What stands out in the Fleet Cockpit, we trace down to the individual cylinder: root cause analysis, health index, combustion curves, limits, master data, and factory comparison.
Over 100 Algorithms, One Clear Recommendation
Over 100 validated expert algorithms correlate pressure curves, temperatures, and load profiles. Instead of vague alarms, you receive weighted causes in plain language.
- Rule-based root cause analysis down to the cylinder level
- Percentage-weighted recommendations in plain language
- Fully customizable – expert knowledge stays within the company

One Value for the Engine's Condition
The Engine Condition Index condenses all evaluated parameters into a single metric – once from operation, once when compared to the factory acceptance test.
- A single index derived from all evaluated parameters
- Second index compared against the shop test
- Plain language notification until a finding is available

Thermodynamics in Laboratory Quality
Cylinder pressure curves with 0.01 degree crank angle resolution: combustion pressure, indicated power, and injection behavior are calculated continuously. Misfires are detected immediately.
- Pressure, derivative, and p-V curves in real-time
- All combustion parameters: Pmax, aPmax, Pcomp, MIP
- Cycle statistics detect misfires and fluctuations instantly

Set Your Own Limits
For each parameter, you define absolute and relative thresholds – per engine and per fleet. Every measurement is checked against these limits.
- Absolute and relative limits per parameter
- Deviation from median, mean, or shop test
- Trend of every parameter across all measurements

Every Engine with Its Specifications
Engine type, number of cylinders, firing order, and performance data are stored for each engine. The diagnosis core uses this data without requiring updates for every measurement.
- Bore, stroke, and connecting rod length per engine type
- Firing order and number of cylinders for assignment
- Custom report templates per engine

Every measurement against the factory baseline
The manufacturer's original shop test data serves as the reference: Every operating point is checked against the factory curve. Gradual deviations become visible early.
- Baseline import directly from the manufacturer's factory acceptance
- Automatic comparison across all load points
- Trend display makes gradual degradation visible early

Operating Models
Four Ways to Operate the EDCenter
Whether data must never leave your own network or operations are outsourced: The EDCenter runs where it fits your IT strategy – with identical functionality.
On-Premises
Installation on your own infrastructure – in the shipping company's data center or as a standalone server directly on board.
- Full data sovereignty within your own network
- Runs even without a permanent internet connection
- Integration into the existing IT landscape
Private Cloud
Dedicated cloud environment exclusively for a fleet – operated in the customer's own cloud subscription.
- Isolated environment, exclusive per customer
- Centrally accessible for office and ships
- Region and compliance requirements freely selectable
Public Cloud
Operation on hyperscaler infrastructure – elastically scalable from a few engines to a global fleet.
- Elastic scaling with fleet size
- Rapid deployment without own hardware
- Worldwide high-performance access
SaaS
The EDCenter as a fully managed service: ATESO operates, monitors, and updates the platform – the fleet uses it effortlessly.
- Operation, updates, and monitoring included
- Productive in the shortest time
- Predictable costs, no own IT effort
Identical functionality across all operating models – and a later switch, for example from SaaS to On-Premises, remains possible at any time.
DocSystems Hardware
Measurement Technology That Belongs in the Engine Room
Every diagnosis starts at the engine: High-frequency cylinder pressure measurement with Swiss precision sensorics provides the raw data from which the EDCenter condenses the fleet picture.

Kistler Pressure Sensors
Piezoelectric cylinder pressure sensors from the Swiss market leader – proven lifespan of over 40,000 hours in heavy oil operation.

DocPro e-1040 LAN
The stationary multi-cylinder system captures all cylinders synchronously directly in the engine room and transmits the data via Ethernet to servers and the EDCenter.

DocPad4 e-600 USB
The most widely used portable single-cylinder measurement system in shipping – in daily use on over 1,000 container, tanker, and cruise ships.
Vibration-resistant harness systems for 6 to 24 cylinders – modular segments, plug-and-play extensible, for fixed installation and portable diagnostics.
Proven Track Record
Proven in Harsh Conditions
Since the first permanent installation in 2014, the platform has been running 24/7 at sea – audited by engine manufacturers and used by DNV Surveyors for official surveys.
In Use By
Leading global fleets such as MSC Shipmanagement, Carnival Corporation, and Stolt Tankers rely on the platform – as do stationary power plants on land.
Partnership
Developed and Operated with ATESO
ATESO is a partner of International Technology GmbH and plays a key role in the development and operation of the e-line platform. The focus lies on the software: EDCenter, data pipelines, and cloud operations.
The technical foundation is the ATESO MWK Stack: It currently supports the platform and forms the basis for future expansion steps – all the way to AI-powered, self-learning diagnostics.
